Time-lapse images of the North Atlantic Front

These images, which are approximately 130 km across by 4.5 km deep, show time-lapse images of the North Atlantic Front.  The reflections come from finestructure created mostly by thermohaline intrusions that effect the transfer of heat and salt between water masses of the Labrador Current and North Atlantic Current.
