Barenaked argillite

DSC04056[1]

UW grad student Mario Mata and WyCEHG team member Ashleigh Boyd determine the seismic velocity of an argillite outcrop in the South Fork of the Eel River.  The geophones are held up by plaster of paris held between rocks.  This data provided a calibration to help us understand the rest of our velocity models. (Photo:  Ryan Armstrong)
